5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT TUBELESS BIKE TAPE
Reviewed in the United States on 31 July 2022
    Verified Purchase
Silicone adhesive sticks well to a rim (better than Stan’s). Hyper thin (compared to Stan’s), so it doesn’t bunch up when installing tires. Very tough, will hold pressure very well. Non-stretch, but conforms to rim better than Stan’s. Only thing is, it doesn’t stick to itself much after 1 revolution, so a small piece of gorilla tape to hold the ends down. 3/4” (19mm) for a 24mm internal rim.

Spank brand mtb tape is 99.9% the same as this, but much more expensive.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product!

Great product !!!! I used this product in conjunction with Copper Tape with EMI shielding to repair the grounding circuit on my hp dv8t-1000 laptop. The WI-FI kept shorting out. I sent it to HP twice while it was still under warranty, to have this short fixed. HP had no clue how to repair it. Both times they just returned it to me with the same problem. Well, it's fixed now. No more shorts. Amazon gave AMAZING delivery service. I ordered this product on a Friday night and it was delivered to my house on Tuesday morning at 9:27am. Great job Amazon.

4.0 out of 5 stars Kapton reminds me of Apollo

I've always wanted a roll of this stuff, I don't know why. Maybe the word "Kapton" reminds me of the early space program. Basically I bought it on a whim, but I don't regret it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not actually 1 mil! Total thickness is 0.052mm

I bought this specifically because it said it was "1 mil" thick kapton tape but I'm not sure why they say this because it's the same 2 mil thickness as every other kapton tape available out there. I measured it with micrometers and it was 0.052mm instead of 0.0254 which would have been exactly 1 mil.

Otherwise standard kapton tape though so 2 stars for that I guess...

5.0 out of 5 stars AFAIK it's the real deal.

Not much to say. If you're contemplating ordering it, you almost certainly know what it is, and this is it. I haven't subjected this specific product to quantitative tests, but by look and feel it is indistinguishable from other polyimide (Kapton) tapes I've used over the years. However, If you don't know what it is, I'll just say its very thin, tough, non-stretch, very high dielectric strength, high temperature silicone adhesive tape. It's orange/brown and translucent/transparent. I find it useful for many things other than it's usual industrial applications.
