    I was looking for something I could pop in a pocket or bag to rescue my dying phone when I'm out and about. This fits the bill perfectly, it's a good size and holds more than enough juice to keep a modern smart phone going on a day of heavy use. It comes with a multitude of connection options but the ease of using Micro USB is terrific, it plugs straight in for charging and has a built in cable and plug to charge your device. I do often carry a spare battery but pulling the battery and having to reboot is often less convenient than the PowerGen. At just under £20 is was good value too.

    I've used this battery 2 times only to charge my Sony Ericson xray. My battery is 1600A therefore, this external battery should charge my phone more than 3 times, but I can charge only for 2 times and half. I don't know about the performance after many time of charging :(
    I don't recommend this product.

    New Updates: The customer service contacted me and delivered a replacement (8400MA) with first class mail. The first test charged my Sony Ultra Z (3070 MA) 1.6 times.
    I would like to rate 5 stars for the customer service.

    This was delivered promptly with several different connecting ends to go with the charging cable. It works well but both I and a friend who also bought it, found that the connecting end snapped and was unusable after a while. I went to my local maplins and bought the necessary connecting end to be able to use the charger. So, the actual charger works well but you have to be very careful if charging whilst out and about as the cable and connector can get bent.

    Following this feedback the sellers contacted me through Amazon and asked me to contact them with the details of the specific connector. This I did and they immediately posted me 2 new cables and 2 connectors which I consider excellent customer service.

    I've tried a few of these sort of battery back up units (proporta etc) this is the only one I've found which was well made and could easily charge my phone to over 80% and still have another charge left in reserve!
    Fantastic when your disappearing out the door and realise your phone or kindle is nearly out of juice.

    Pros
    ~~~~
    Cheaper than some of the systems I've brought
    The micro usb plug fits most things these days, and you have the USB out socket for leads which don't
    Very good charge on my Sony Experia Go
    The main button & LEDs work well, and you don't need to keep the instructions just to work out what it's doing.
    The recharge of the unit is easy, as you can just plug it into your phone micro usb charger when you get home..the leds let you know when it's fully charged - no rummaging around trying to find the unusual special recharge cable!
    The charge lead clips into the case so makes it a neat self contained unit
    Cons
    ~~~~~
    Not that slim.....about the size of a mars bar
    Gets slightly warm when in use
    The short lead means you have to keep the unit within ~4"(100mm) of the phone's charging socket

    Can't normally be bothered to leave a review, but I was chuffed with this...

    What it does do: Charges itself over MicroUSB, and then you can juice up your device using the inbuilt microusb cable, or by plugging in your gadget into the USB port on the battery pack.

    However, after a couple of uses my battery pack stopped charging. On plugging into the mains, all 4 lights on the pack (cheesy, by the way) would cycle - throughout the night, in one case - without actually charging the thing! At first, I switched chargers, thinking that maybe that's the issue - after which it did partially charged - but then conked out again.

    Have returned back to Amazon now after speaking to support, hopefully I'll get a refund soon. I recommend going in for a branded device. This has lots of great reviews, but the product experience has 'cheap copy' written all over it.

    Great little device. When fully charged, it will recharge my phone fully, screen off, at least 3 times. I mostly use it to keep my phone well charged while I use it to play games. With the screen on and GPS engaged it manages to keep my phone in action all day, which I think is pretty good.

    Its pretty slim, and slips easily in a pocket or bag. Its fairly lightweight, and I have actually found the torch useful - its very bright! The only problem is the integrated charging cable. It breaks immediately, but it comes with spares so that doesn't matter. Good value for money, and a handy back up to have for any smartphone user.

    I have the 6000mAh version. Nearly all the positive reviews are correct for this version. here is a summary:

    - it is well constructed, looks good and is compact enough if you HAD To carry it in your pocket. It's not ugly and doesn't look cheap, but I wouldn't say it's stylish.

    - it charges my iPhone 5 to 98% in about 45 minutes and that's while it is switched on with the occasional use. You can get 3.5 full charges for an iPhone 5. it charges a little bit quicker if your phone is turned off.

    - it doesn't charge the iPad if the iPad is on and in use.. However, you can get the iPad to charge to about 45% if you turn the ipad off to charge it.

    - To charge the battery pack itself, the iPad charger (15w) will charge it in about 4 hours. The iPhone charger will also charge it, but that take all night.

    - As long as you have an official apple sync cable, the iPhone can not differentiate whether it is plugged into a wall socket or this device.

    - I carry this about in my work bag often end up using it and now I can be lazy about charging my phone up as I can confidently rely on this battery pack as a backup. Also, sometimes it's handy not to be tethered to your wall socket just because your phone is dead.
