Easy set up!

I received this camera yesterday and set it up using Lan, no problem. Tried to set up wifi, using all the advice on these reviews to no avail, I was so close to sending it back as I didn't have time to mess about with settings, so went back to basics! With the camera connected to lan, go to advanced settings using the arrow next to the cam status: online. Tap advanced settings, then tap wifi setting. Do a wifi search until it comes up with your router (this may take some time). Input your pass code. I was wireless within seconds! I did not need to open windows, it was purely done through my smart phone and android tablet. No ip addresses needed! Unplug Lan. I hope it works for you.

Coolead L-610WS IP camera Review

This review is for the Coolead L-610WS IP camera.

The main reason for my purchase is because my youngling has reached the climbing stage of his jedi training.

This item was to replace the baby monitors.

I rate this item a generous 4 star based on the following....

This item is easy to setup if you have a decent router that allows you to do DHCP reservation (easier than setting up static connection) and UPNP or port forwarding.

(UPNP is easier and probably safer than port forwarding).

If no UPNP settings available try port triggering and make port forwarding the last resort.

I have tested this item in my home network using wireless, wired and outside my home network using my mobile data plan.... ALL work superbly.

Please note you need to set this item up with an RJ45 lead first, reboot the unit and then configure the wireless and remote access before you unplug the RJ45.

You wont get better quality at this price range @ under £20 (May 2017 prices).

The recommended software is also decent for being free, I have used worse premium software.

For being 480p picture quality the picture quality seems to be pretty clear during the day and evening.

Where this item looses its star is for 2 reasons... One being the lack of official support and the second being the interference you get from it when you activate the sound via the app or software. By messing about with the antenna on the unit you should be able to dim the static noise a good bit. Personally I will probably just leave the sound off.

Would I recommend... yes I would but if you have a bigger budget or a bigger task then go for a more expensive setup.

Lastly..... security, I cannot stress how important it is to change both the admin username and password for the camera just like you should with any other network device or router.

Spent 2 hours working this out WiFi password kept saying no connect don't even know what lan is because I kept pressing lan and it dosnt do anything saying something all the time and not connecting. Green light and orange light at the back keep flashing and on the app it says "connecting" then "no connection". So please please people who have written a good review please tell me step by step how to do this include everything wires my phone the app I've got a massive headache now. Simple terms step by step guide help me.. P.S iam blonde so it needs to be simple haha

It's what you pay for it that reflects on the quality of the item. It's got no sd card slot so thats a bad point, however just can just record it to your pc as i find that easier anyway. Then you dont have to keep swapping sds cards.
The night vision is good.
Motion detect works really well and records every movement.
Oh, and i cant get it to record voice or sound have tried have tried both turning on the mic and the speaker within the camera. Ive tried them separately and the mc on the camera doent work.
Please help if anyone knows how to do it.
Now the camera wont even stream to my pc. It just suddenly stopped working. have tried to delete the camera and add it again but with still no luck.

If you've used other webcams of identical build before, you'll know excactly how to setup and use this webcam. It's not the greatest resolution but it will work if you want something simple to keep an eye on a location. The main problem with this webcam for me was that I couldn't get it's email alerts for motion to work at all. Even worse, there are at least 2-3 serious security flaws in the firmware for this webcam and NO FIXES. So, if you put this cam on the web, don't be surprised if it gets hacked.

Update: bricked after 1 week of use. Returned for refund. Turns out my concerns were well founded about the reliability of the product.

Original review:
This an ipcam01 clone that uses ddns and upnp to open up the camera to the outside world. Wifi is pretty stable and picture quality is good for a 640x480 device. Have installed on a separate subnet so I can monitor, having doubts on security and reliability.

Bought this to keep an eye on my dogs while I'm at work easy to set up and install really pleased with it night vision is great to not sure what the other reviews are on about when they say waste of money I think it's great worth every penny and does the job I want it to. Just looking into purchasing a speaker so I can speak to the dogs other than not having a speaker excellent product have recommended to others as it was also recommended to me.
