Absoultely RUBBISH- Defective Hub...

Reading the reviews I thought it would be a half decent product,but alas I was proved wrong. I wanted something with a longer lead so the hub would not get in the way of the keyboard and I thought this would work fine.

I plugged in the mouse USB at the end and in doing so, a rectangular piece of plastic fell out and a warning message came up on my computer of a surge.
I quickly unplugged it, plugged it into one of the four top spaces and tried again, only when I unplugged from the top, the whole metal part came out. This was straight out of the plastic wrap.

I was only plugging in a mouse and a small desktop printer so there shouldn't of been problems.

Does what it Says on the Tin

This does exactly what it says it does. I've been using it steadily with an assortment of USB devices, and there's been no problems at all. It will run my iPhone, and Webcam, and they're the 2 most problematic devices I have, so it should run most things. Although, I'd 2nd one of the other reviewers comments, and not try running a hard disc from it.
The only critism I have is that the cable could be a tad longer.

UPDATE:
One thing I have found that doen't work too well, is my encrypted USB stick. This seems to kill the hub, and I have to remove it then shove it back in to get it to work again. Apart from that, still very happy after a couple of weeks of continuous use.

I've never written a negative review and never returned an Amazon item. This item, however, is not recommended. The sockets DO NOT grip the plugs and the whole thing feels cheaply made and flimsy. Neither it, nor it's plastic bag, look new. I've sent it straight back for a refund. The Amazon returns procedure is easy to invoke with a returns slip and return postage label being immediately available to print - thank you, Amazon, for that. But less thanks, on this occasion, for a very sub-standard product, which does not live up to the good name Amazon has, in my opinion.

I came across this item when i was browsing for a USB headset and it had instant appeal for me as i am constantly pulling the USB connector out of the socket on my PC and risk damadge.So i ordered 2 as i use a laptop aswell and thought it would be handy,nice fast delivery and good quality items supplied which now placed and secured in a more convient position.
It not only has my Headset fitted but also a seperate hard drive and its used often to transfare data to another hard drive i have for my TV.
Very pleased with the price and quality and i highly recomend it.

Nice and compact, works well glad I bought them, no apologies for repeating the title. I bought two of these because I have two PC's and a Laptop and because I often need to add more then one USB device. As an architect I always seem to have far too much clutter on my desk and so I did not want a large USB Hub hanging around. These work really well and at the price you will not find a better bargain anywhere. Great product, really fast delivery, and they work, what more could anybody want?

Long and short of it - connecting multiple devices to a computer works great, have Windows 7 machine and it paired up instantly. However if you want to connect anything like a mobile phone, iPod, or any other kit soley for the purpose of powering it up or charging the battery, forget about it. It doesn't seem to carry enough power, sometimes the device will charge but you'll barely get the battery up by 20% after a full day's charge it seems. Other times the device doesn't like being connected (in the case of my mobile) so it tries to break the connection. either way not what I was hoping out of it, only as the intention was to charge an ipod and iphone. other users may want something different out of it.

Hopeless. It worked perfectly - for about 10 minutes. Then overheated very badly - the cord and unit were really hot to touch, as were my two usb's plugged into it. Fortunately I discovered the problem before it could damage my stuff. Perhaps mine was a freak bad one, but would advise anyone buying one to monitor extremely carefully when first using it. Fortunately Amazon's returns policy is the best.
