    Neodymium Countersunk Facts

    Neodymium magnets are the most powerful magnets available (per unit volume) and are often referred to as Rare Earth Magnets. They have an elaborate manufacturing process of vacuum melting, milling, pressing and sintering. These magnets can then be sliced into smaller magnets or ground to tighter tolerances using diamond grinding tools.

    Neodymium Types

    Neodymium magnets are relatively new, they were developed in the mid-1980s and can be found extensively in countless modern applications from fridge magnets to wind turbines! You will find them in disc shapes, pot, ring, rectangular, rod and many more!

    Countersunk Spotlight

    Countersunk magnets are available with either pole on the magnetic face so that they can be used as a pair to attract or repel. If you are using two magnets to attract you need to make sure the opposite poles are facing each other as identical poles will repel.

Over time one of them has chipped, but that's because I let go of it when it was within range of all the others and the magnets are so strong they ping back in with some force.

      I have used a few of these to hold spanners in the workshop and other projects.

      If you buy a magnet with a strong holding force you then have to fix it to something with an adhesive that exceeds that force.
      bit of a problem that!
      buying drilled/countersunk magnets means you can screw the magnet to the wall and hang the maximum weight possible.

      you could even attach a stronger non drilled magnet to the screwed in one giving you even greater weight handling for a reduced price!
