Amazing unit

Amazing unit
Having read previous reviews on amazon I lowered my expectations on overall build quality. However when it arrived I was extremely impressed. The hinge on the back is also very well made. I have quite a bit of Bang and Oulfsen and Bose Audio Equipment and build quality is equally matched with those. Sound quality is impressive too for something this size, although I only tend to listen to 1950s rock n roll, and older recordings prefer mono etc.It looks superb on my desk next to my vintage camera lamp & lava lamp etc.
Thank you for your feedback

I have wanted this radio for so long, and finally treated myself to it recently.
It matches our kitchen decor beautifully and just looking at it makes me smile.
DAB is amazing - no more tuning or complications, it simply tunes itself. The sound is great, and it's easy moving between stations. I think it has a host of other features, such as the ability to pause, which I haven't used yet.

I love having a radio in the kitchen as I cook - this has really enhanced my time in the kitchen.

I know other reviewers have commented on the casing - I can't do so yet as the radio is still new, but it looks well built to me.

As a final note, the price on Amazon is better than elsewhere, as is the selection of colours.

In short, whilst it is expensive, it is a beautiful and functional product that will provide much joy to its recipient!

Well made, great sound, easy to use and looks great. I am going through the mains so I have mine positioned in one place all of the time. Using to carry about all the time, I am not sure the strap would be reliable. Not sure if the strap broke and it fell to the floor whether the casing would stand up to it. Anyone using batteries I figure it will work out costing a lot. They should have allowed for rechargeable batteries with charger thrown in the package. After all the purchase price was relatively high. Other than that as far as I am concerned a great buy.

Purchased as a present for my sister for Christmas. Feedback has been very positive, with very clear sound. The product is extremely simply to setup and use going forwards, and with it's retro look, it clearly appeals to a wide market currently looking for that style of product to add to any room in the house. It's fairly weighty, but in a good way - it feels solid and well built. Would certainly recommend.

I bought this set because I want to listen to The World Service and Radio Four Extra without having to rely on the internet and because I like to take my radio from room to room with me. My main reason for buying the RD60 was it's claim of up to 120 hours running time on battery, I've only just switched it on for the first time so I don't yet know how true that claim is. I also wanted a traditional style radio with basic controls. It sounds GOOD even without a tone control, and that goes for FM as well as DAB. It looks like a real radio. The volume goes all the way up without distorting speech, plenty loud enough to drown out the usual domestic noises. I would have preferred a nice "click on click off" type of on/off switch rather than the "touch type" and I am a bit worried about its longevity. I see it has a low battery warning light which might be useful. Well, so far so good anyway. It is expensive but then I love my radio and listen to it a lot so I feel justified in spending £150 on it. LONG LIVE THE LICENCE FEE! LONG LIVE THE BBC!

A few years ago I bought one of the earliest Roberts DAB radios (model RD-1) and have been rather disappointed in its sound quality, which is slightly muffled. When its electronic tuning started to malfunction I decided it was time for a replacement, and the RD60 caught my eye.

The design imitates the iconic retro Roberts style, yet the DAB technology and range of available stations is firmly contemporary. The sound quality is very good and to my mind noticeably better than the RD-1 (though still mono) and the controls easy to use. The full range of digital stations is available but selected stations can be added to a 'favourites' list to avoid excessive scrolling through unwanted stations. FM stations are also available. There is an input jack so that you can play an MP3 player through the radio and there is also an earphone jack. An on-line version of the instruction manual is available on the Roberts website for those who wish to see full operating details before purchasing.

I am very happy with this radio. The main drawback compared with the RD-1 is that only one line of station information is available. Scrolling is therefore necessary and could be smoother with better quality lettering, but this is a very minor criticism. There is also no capability for record/replay or SD card recording, but this is not a feature that I particularly need and hardly ever used on the RD-1. If you are looking for a DAB digital radio with good sound quality, no frills and a sixties style this could be for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tolles Radio im Retro-Design mit moderner Technik
Reviewed in Germany on 4 May 2018

3.0 out of 5 stars Gutes stylisches Radio, Klangqualität unter Erwartung
Reviewed in Germany on 19 April 2016

4.0 out of 5 stars Super bonne radio DAB pour la cuisine!
