My son who is 3 loves Thomas! This collection gives him all of the videos and without being redone in American English. (We are Americans, but the American voice is very annoying) Now when he wants to watch a video we no longer cringe at the voice and my son likes the British voices better as well.

The best years of Thomas for a good price

I bought this because my 18-month old son loves Thomas but the newer series, especially the CGI ones, are terrible. It seems as if the format has been changed to match programmes like Chuggington, which are also terrible. These early shows were about adventures on the railway, the fact that the engines talked was almost a sideline, they couldn't control themselves or choose which track to change to and most of all there was no need for the preachy moral in each episode that is rapidly forgotten by the next one. This is just good old-fashioned storytelling and my son will sit still watch 2 or 3 episodes happily, whereas he can't watch even one of the the more recent episodes before getting bored and wandering off to play.
