Well, what more to say about one of the greatest childrens' TV shows ever? The faux-recycled brown cover is inspired; the sixty-plus episodes originally aired between 1973 and 1978 are just as you remember them. Picture quality is impressive given the age of the episodes and the quality of some of this DVDs peers (The Flumps is a case in point), and all-in-all it's a treat that will keep kids (and nostalgic adults) happy for a few hours. `Nuff said.

Irritating

It's now one year since the review saying the mistakes are being rectified. They are still there on a copy I received from Amazon last week.
When your child asks for a particular episode the menu will take you to a different one. It's irritating and takes the fun out of watching.
The quality of the sound and picture is no better than the VHS tapes we own.

Remember you're a Womble!

I received this as a gift. The packaging is made from recycled material, which is a nice touch in keeping with the message of the programme. The Wombles, who live sustainably, suddenly seem ahead of their time!

60 episodes on 2 DVDs should keep both adults and children entertained. The quality is fantastic if you take into account that digital detail can't be expected from an analogue 1970s programme, but the shows are well-made and entertaining. Would make an ideal present for the young and the young at heart!

Good but not perfect

The content of this dvd gives our grandson some idea of the type of childrens' programme his mum used to watch way back when ... It is just a shame that a few of the episodes jump from the opening music to the last 10 seconds of the episode instead of just playing what should be there.
It's not on every track, just some, but it does slightly spoil the enjoyment of the experience.
For the price paid, though, it's not a catastrophe, because most of the episodes are ok.

complete?

Apparently one episode is missing and another duplicated.

What I do notice is that the episodes are not in order and when you click on the episodes by the episode selection menu, you are not taken to that particular episode but a completely different one.

Terrible DVD authoring, and obviously not tested before released to the public.

It's a shame as this was one show that was crying out for a DVD release and has become an embaressing shambles

Wombles of Wimbledon common are we......

I bought this for my two year old niece so she could share in the love of the Wombles that my sisters and I enjoyed as children. And it would give my sister a trip down memory lane as she watches it with her daughter, remembering how much she loved these characters at the same age. Feedback from my sister "her daughter has become a Wombles addict". Aah, worth every penny.
