I have never tried anything like this but after coming across them on this site and reading the reviews I thought I'd give them a go.
I have been trying to lose weight and be "good" food wise but it can be hard sticking to the diet when I've got a busy day at work or simply got the munchies. Thought these bars would come in handy on days I don't have time to get a proper lunch, have the munchies or simply need something to keep me going between seeing clients. Basically, this has fit the bill perfectly.
The first time I had one I must admit I didn't enjoy it. It wasn't the texture or anything like that I just found it overly sweet and quite hard to chew. I ended up running for a glass of water to counter the sweetness and help it to go down a little. But I think they advise you to have a drink with it anyway I obviously missed that point til it was too late haha.
I decided to give another of these bars a go because I was really impressed with the full feeling it gave me and really couldn't believe something that looked and tasted like a chocolate bar (obviously without all the fat and calories) could do that. It kept me going for a good few hours before I started getting hungry again.
Anyway, my second bar was a lot nicer with a drink and again had them same satisfying effect so I have since bought one of the boxes of 12 which are great value compared to buying them individually.
I've been using these bars for about 3 weeks and I only have 2-3 bars per week, using them to supplement my diet rather than replace meals when I feel like I need something to keep me going. I have not had any side effects, only positive effects. They have helped to control my cravings, I think cos they are quite sweet and I definitely have a sweet tooth! Also cos of the low GI they help keep your blood sugar levels steady so when I get home after a busy day I don't feel the need to go raiding all the cupboards eating everything in site!
Would recommend this not only for people trying to get the extra protein in but also for people like me who are trying to lose weight, control appetite and stay on the straight and narrow.
