A bit leaky but not a big problem.

These rings do not seal very well. I think the originals worked far better.
Steam and water hiss (although with negligible actual loss) from the joint even if I screw the top down quite tightly.
As these rings are the original make I do not really know where to go from here.
One reviewer said they should be made of silicone rubber and I think that might help.
So I'm looking for an after market replacement seal or a better quality one of the same dimensions from another maker.
The stainless steel coffee maker itself is very good and this issue is in the 'minor but slightly troubling' category.

Product as a description. Bialetti is a premium brand in the field and these spare parts aren't even priced more than the competition, as they use to do. Remember, in order to make a good espresso, only wash the moka and its parts with soap the first time, make a first coffee with half coffee, half sugar in the funnel, and leave it in the moka several hours, before dumping it and start making coffee good to drink.

Rubber gasket flavoured coffee.

Though satisfied with packaging and delivery, I am deeply disappointed with the product itself; after having used the new gasket several dozen times, it still has an overwhelming rubbery smell, which permeates every coffee brew. I've actually just stopped using my moka express after 7 years, because the coffee it now yields is revolting. Bialetti have been no help at all; they've advised only that I buy more gaskets and try them out in the hope that one somehow works.

This is the perfect gasket and as advertised. I had an ABC (original Bialetti) which required a new gasket and I was unable to use it until I received the new gasket. The new gasket and filter have made my coffee maker smach out an amazing coffee and it is used everyday! amazing product, thank you!

The only reason I bought this product is that I once left the coffee maker on the stove and melted the original gasket! I had a useless coffee maker for a couple of months while I ordered replacement gaskets and had them shipped to me! This is my insurance policy!

New seal, no coffee?

I've bought replacement seals in the past and they've worked well. This time though the seal seams a bit loose and the coffee doesn't come through. The water boils away in the base of the stove-top, and the coffee's burnt by the time anything comes through. Was working fine for years before changing the seal. Any ideas? I'm not buying a new one having spent money on seals, so it's back to my cafetiere for now.
