Philip Jodidio, born in New Jersey in 1954 graduated from Harvard where he studied the history of art and economics. He was the Editor in Chief of the widest circulation French art magazine Connaissance des Arts from 1980 to 2002. He is the author of more than 150 books, mainly about contemporary architecture. He has published monographs on Richard Meier, Norman Foster, Santiago Calatrava, Alvaro Siza, Zaha Hadid, Renzo Piano, Tadao Ando, Jean Nouvel and Shigeru Ban. He has also worked with the Aga Khan Trust for Culture on books concerning the heritage of the Muslim world.

Als Liebhaber von Bildern von Paul Klee bin ich auf das interessante Bauwerk seines Museums in Bern gestoßen.
Diese "Welle in der Landschaft" hat mich magisch in seinen Bann gezogen. Und wie es so ist, habe ich mich irgendwann entschlossen, es mit meiner Frau - einer Kunstlehrerin - in Bern zu besuchen.
Bilder von Paul Klee kann man überall in der Welt bewundern, wahrscheinlich sogar die bekannteren von ihm. Aber dieses Museum ist einmalig, ich empfehle einen Besuch für jeden Liebhaber von Kunst und Architektur. So eine Harmonie von Architektur und Natur habe ich bisher noch nie gesehen!
Und wie es so kommen kann, lese ich im Museum etwas über seinen Architekten und Erbauer, Renzo Piano.
Voller Erstaunen und Entzücken erfahre ich darin, daß ein weiterer Lieblingsbau von mir - das Centre Pompidou in Paris - ebenfalls von ihm entworfen und gebaut wurde.
Welch ein Gegensatz: In Paris die absolute Disharmonie zur Umgebung und in Bern diese einmalige Harmonie.
Oh Renzo, ich danke Dir für diese Bauten! Wahrscheinlich sind wir beide "Zwillinge", weil wir diese zwei Seelen in uns haben - würde meine Frau sagen -
