Product description

Review

'A treasure trove of mischief and silliness' --Scottish Daily Mail

'Chronicles the history of the comic' --Scotland on Sunday

'Details every giggle and guffaw of the Beano's illustrious career. Features some of the best cartoon strips in the comic.' --The Daily Record

About the Author

Morris Heggie was a key protagonist in one of the greatest rivalries in comic history. As editor of rival comic superpower, The Dandy, for over twenty years, he was charged with imitating The Beano's incredible success. This gave him a unique, privileged perspective on the reasons why The Beano became a publishing phenomenon. Morris is widely regarded as one of Britain s leading comic historians. He coordinated the creative team who researched and wrote The History of The Beano.
