I remember this book from my childhood, and I love reading it to my kids now! We've borrowed most of the other Barbapapa books from the library, but this remains my favourite - and both my 2yo & 6yo love it too! If only I had the time/creativity to make them their own toy Barbapapa house! (I think the fab Playing by the Book blog tells you how.)

How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 November 2014I read and loved this story as a child and still have the original book. I decided to buy this for my daughter (5) to protect my old one. It is a lovely story, so glad they have decided to publish them again. My daughter loves it as well.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 April 2014This is the best of the rereleases because you get to meet the children, and the children are really the fun part. There will be at least one your child identifies with. There's Barbalib, who loves to read, Barbazoo, who loves animals, Barbabright, who likes astronomy, Barbabravo (keep fit), Barbalala (music), Barbabeau (an artist) and Barbabella (originally Barbabelle) who likes pretty stuff. But she's not 'the token girl', as there are four female and three male barbababies. She just likes pretty stuff.
In this episode the Barbas are too big for their house so they move around, being chased by demolition machines. They work together as a family to build a new house and the machines still track them down. They are 'too gentle to hurt people', so they gum up the machines' jaws with sticky Barbaplastic, and then go back to their idyllic and eco family life. Not quite as arty as the previous two (which feature beautifully drawn French street scenes, London, and the Chrysler building) but more exciting for kids.

JeanieReviewed in the United States on 28 May 20145.0 out of 5 stars one of my favorite childhood books!
We got this book when I was very young and it was an instant hit with all of us! This book was extra special since we had 7 children in our family too! It was so nice to be able to imagine having your own room and having it just the way you wanted it. And to be able to become anything was an even better thing to imagine! I think this book is very instrumental in helping young ones learn to use their imagination! Very highly recommended! :)

As a child I found Barbapapa's Ark at a bookfair and fell in love with it. I have been trying to get the other books for years but they're rare, usually not in great shape, and sell for a fortune. I was so happy to see the re-issues, though they have to be shipped from England (usually). Wonderful ideas of getting along, keeping the world pleasant and lovely illustrations.

I like the fact that I found the book but I wish there would've been more details about the shape of the book. It is taped together to hold the cover on. Also if they're going to sell it for twenty some dollars they should take the $1 sticker that they paid for it off the book. A little disappointed.

I searched high and low for this book...for years! I don't know what happened to my original copy but I loved this book. When my brother saw it at my house he told me it was one of his favorites as well and also ordered one.
Christy OwensReviewed in the United States on 10 March 20145.0 out of 5 stars Family teamwork!
I remember this story from when I was a child and remember it being one of my favorites. Not sure what my mom did with our copy? A great story about being flexible and joining together in teamwork for the greater good of all.
