This series has been lovingly put together by an author who cares both her characters and the reader's expectations of a mystery. This is the fifth in the series, and only the most hard-hearted could fail to warm to Morgan's family and relationships, as "Secrets Never Die" subtly begins to show the work/life balance and the sacrifices a parent makes through the eyes of her partner. All family life (including the serious illness of one of her daughters) plays out as she and her friends and colleagues embark on a desperate attempt to find a wounded, innocent teenager who has become the prime suspect in his step-father's murder. An excellent, well-paced, well-crafted read. Episode 6 follows in the autumn.
