The dehumidifier seems to use less electricity than it states on the back of the product.I plugged it into a device that shows you how much power appliances use and it was reading about 226 watts on the dehumidification setting and fan speed setting 2.Even on the highest fan speed it was still reading under 240 watts. It seems more clever than any other dehumidifier I've ever owned. When it reaches its target humidity level the compressor turns off but the fan keeps going at its low speed setting still analyzing the humidity in the room.If it deems the humidity has dropped to its target level of say 60% relative humidity the unit switches off.If not the fan speeds up again(to my preferred medium fan speed)and turns the compressor back on. Also don't expect it to be quiet if your sitting near it. The main thing it does do well is it gets rid of excessive humidity in the house.
