Average Murder Series Continuation
24 August 2018
This wasn’t bad but it wasn’t madly exciting or gripping. Average.
The storyline is a cold case, combined with up to date murders. Bones are found at the bottom of a quarry, which belong to Jessica Collins, who went missing 26 years previously. She just disappeared on her way to a party, when aged 7. DCI Erika Foster wheedles her way into the investigation with her sidekicks- Peterson, Moss and Mc Quarry.
There’s the (usual) conflicts with senior, officers, unhinged religious parents, obvious (or are they?) suspect and suspicious background characters. None are gripping, police included.
To be fair, the author does maintain a mystery regarding the perpetrator, which was a little surprising but a little unbelievable.
As I previously said, this is average- better than some books of this genre, not as good as others.
