A feast for ears and eyes.

This is truly a magnificent bargain.
The cover and booklet are well produced with notes and texts, together with numerous illustrations - truly sumptuous to look through and read.
Both the CD's are wonderfully ethereal and exciting to listen to and will transport any listener. The DVD of the Missa Assumpta est Maria filmed and recorded in la Chapelle Royale de Versailles is equally wonderful to listen to. There may be the perfectionists who prefer a studio recording to bring out the different layers of sound with all the nuances that a composer might hope for as well, but to hear music in the setting it was composed for is a far more true sound that a composer wanted. The depth and reverberation of the sound, both musicians and singers, placed in different parts of the chapel, make for a very extra-ordinary and more impressive sound.
A beautiful collection of music and singing made all the more exquisite by its setting.
