A decent little action flick but rather lacking in creativity. The original French offering, District 13, wins hands down when the two films are put side by side - its chase sequences are much sharper and the storytelling far more compelling. It's rare for an independent foreign film to beat the might of Hollywood, and generally speaking I'm a fan of American remakes. But in this case the Europeans win!

Watched this with low expectations - the best way - and found it better than expected, there is plenty of action, a ludicrous plot and some amusing 'bad guys' who may not be so bad after all.
There are plenty of really silly moments like the car crashes - they show the speedo indicating nearly 100 miles an hour just before they hit something at clearly no more than about 10 miles an hour, or when the prison van guards get thrown out onto the road from a moving vehicle, again to avoid serious injury they would have had to slow right down for this - it was supposed to be an undercover cop throwing them out.
Definitely not a film to ever be taken seriously, just a bit of silly fun.

What a terrible remake. In an age of fight scene choreography to the standard of The Raid and The Raid 2, they had to make this. Very brief glimpses of David Belle's physical brilliance, but you really should just watch B13, the French original. This remake is like they took something wonderful and made every single part of it mediocre. B13 was a fantastic celebration of Parkour and martial arts, whereas this is basically an insult in the form of a cash cow.

Not worth your time! This film is too fake, if the US military wanted some douche bag *in* a walled part of town *in* a US city - they would have him. But let's say they didn't the acting is still very artificial, the only interesting part is the chase at the beginning. Not worth it at all.

Immediately thought of the "District 13" Film Series following the opening Prologue... and then the main District 13 "Parkour" Actor/Performer appeared !!!

Clearly a US/Hollywood remake, nothing like as original, gritty or gripping as the French Original(s) and maybe a little "old Hat" since "Parkour" also featured in a great Bond Film sequence.

Nothing special but easy to follow and entertaining

How this has 4 stars on here is beyond me. Ok action sequences but absolutely awful dialogue and acting. Worst film I have seen in quite some time.

A half decent remake of what is a great french film. They've largely kept the original premise but given it enough of an original flair that you don't mind. Paul Walker does well in it and as always David Belle is great at what he does. I'd happily watch this again.
