I have been waiting for this Blu-ray release for what has seemed an eternity - when it finally dropped through the letterbox I was not disappointing. The picture transfer quality is breath-taking and pin sharp, with a host of restored footage removed by the censors over the years. Nice to see those gory scenes back in the final 'cut' of the film.
As a bonus the extras are also magnificent, the usual suspects dissect the film and provide all the history and detail you need to know.
Add this to your collection and sell of your old DVD copies - they are now redundant.

A late vintage Hammer Frankenstein, marked by some well rendered Gothic sets and excellent acting from Cushing and Bryant. The budget extended to some decent British character actors including Bernard Lee and Charles Lloyd Pack and there is also an excellent turn by the asylum director in a classically seedy comic role. Unfortunately, most of the inmates, inevitably played by cheap extras, ham up many of the scenes and end up spoiling the party somewhat. Not the best of the Hammer films it is true, but Terrence Fisher has created a good atmosphere and that's a rare quality in these, the company's twilight years.

The last of the "Hammer" Frankenstein films. Decent movie, but the "Creature" leaves a bit to be desired. Peter Cushing brings his usual touch of class to the proceedings. If you enjoy the horror films of the late 50s to the 70s you will like this.

so glad this was the end to hammers Frankenstein series if it ended with the dreadful horror of Frankenstein it wouldn't be so fondly remembered the monster looks stupid but the story makes up for it.

The end of an era for Hammer and the last Frankenstein film as to date. This is a very tongue and cheek outing which is really fun and brings a fitting end to the Cushing Frankenstein films. Includes a nice documentary from a Hammer aficionado. Its great that they chose to use the original art work on the packaging for the blu ray.

Waited along time for this and wasn't disappointed when I got it. Had many versions of the film over the years trying to get the full complete version of this hammer classic and when released on blu Ray I had to get it. Trust me it's all here. Peter Cushing in his final appearance as Frankenstein makes it a very special entry in the Frankenstein film series. A must for all Frankenstein fans.

What can I say, to add to all other comments, other than it's an effing great release, almost 100% uncut and with a wonderful content.
