One of the best short fantasy books I've read, the character building is very good the build up of relationships between all the main characters is very well done also. Some reviews say there's to much talking and not enough action I disagree as that is what makes you fall in love with the main man himself (Darius) and for anyone reading this You will fall for him. Anyone looking for an easy read military fantasy book look no farther than The KingSlayer this is a must read.

This has everything a good story requires. A beginning a middle and an end which are full of things happening. But that one good item "a happy ending"' A brilliant story.

I would heartily recommend Kingslayer, it's a solid fantasy novel that hasn't fallen into the trap of trying to be dark and overlapping plots.
Proof that not every novel needs to be Epic to be awesome.

Kingslayer is a great character driven story let down some inconsistency's with the plot and for me at least the battle scenes were lacking in something, but easily forgiven because what Honor has done is deliver a stunning novel that draws you in, for me this book is about Darius finding himself, in the opening chapter it's clear Darius has been living on borrowed time.
He did what he thought was right, regardless of the consequences.
I really liked his interactions with the queen and other generals, but it's his bodyguard and 'servant' that had me smiling the most.
Honorer's managed in a single novel what many authors fail to do in entire series, Darius seems like he'd been plucked from some of my favorite fantasy books of days passed, i just hope that there will be a sequel.

rather lightweight fantasy which remains very readable! Some characters one dimensional others quite well developed and always likeable! Took me a couple of hours to read so its no George Martin /Abercrombie/Adrian Tchaikovsky ! A bit like eating a bar of galaxy chocolate which of course has its place in life!

The only real criticism I have of this book is that some parts feels a year but rushed (mostly the romance with Amalah), but I enjoyed this book far too much to care.
