Extremely unhappy: This app has changed its offer to Kindle Fire HD (previous gen)
on 1 September 2015
I have been using this app for the past year with no problems. I regularly use this app to download and watch later various BBC programmes and it was joy to use. I say was as suddenly because I have a Kindle Fire HD (previous generation) the BBC has decided to withdraw the download facility. It's no longer an option to me and no doubt countless other previous generation users. There is a message in the app that clearly states that although the download facility is no longer an option to me, I can stream via with-fi or wait for Amazon to update my kindle's system before I can use all facilities once more. This is in my view an outrageous situation caused by both the BBC and Amazon where both organisations blame the other for the consumer of older models of the Kindle Fire HD losing out. Given there is little that can be done for me seeing as the software is suddenly a gateway to using the BBC app, my question to Amazon is, do you as a large conglomerate have a responsibility towards the users of your older Kindle Fire HD tablets to ensure all apps work for all users and not just your users of your latest model of kindle fire? I bought this Kindle Fire last year on recommendation that Amazon looks after all its Kindle customers and was assured at the time that I would not be forced to consider constantly upgrading the Kindle's hardware. Perhaps this situation is the beginning of things to come.
