The later Silver trimmed ones are MUCH better.

NOTE: YOU CANNOT SET THIS UP WITH A PC! You must use either an Android or IOS device (via a free App) to set this up, and you may need to turn your WiFi off or get a little further away from it to do the initial set-up before turning it back on to register the unit. The newer silver trimmed units are less sensitive to this issue.
Picture quality is either 320x240 or 640x480 which although common for older webcams is now poor for this price point. Low light level image quality has improved with the latest (silver) version, but early (grey) ones are dreadful. Access via the web is through a server which was in the Far East and access was sometimes difficult (capacity issues?) but when it works it's just fine. If you have port forwarding on then that can stop external video streaming despite the manufacturers assurances that the unit can dynamically assign ports as long it is connected to a UPNP router (mine is and doesn't work over the web). The manufacturer will not release any port information so getting around this is not possible.
All in all it's a good bit of kit. You can have up to four cameras running and if you give Grandparents etc the passwords etc they can see your little one too. Just remember the camera works day & night, so watch where you position it! It records sound, takes (poor) inages, allows two way comms, plays lullabies from an on board list and shows temp on screen. There is a noticeable delay between live sound and it coming from the app.
Mar 2014 Update: there now definitely seem to be two versions of this camera on the market, but telling which one you are being offered is difficult. When it turns up you will find the versions are very easy to identify. Early units (with very poor visual performance) have white cases with a Gunmetal Grey trim. The latest version with MUCH better optical performance is white with Silver trim. The difference is marked as the image is very much clearer both day and night. We can now see exactly what our little one is doing with no trouble at all. They come in the same box with the same numbers on the outside, but the later one is the one to have. You might be advised to ask the seller what colour the painted trim is. I have had both versions and the gunmetal grey version from early 2013 has now been retired as the resolution is so poor.
