I thought this book was about assuaging the author's guilt at him making a load of money while a central character from his book and subsequent film went into a downward spiral. Things could have been so different had he not got injured...perhaps not because he has made poor choices throughout his adult life which may have been the case if he had made it to college etc I would have preferred updates on other characters from the book too, the book wasn't all about Boobie.
Catching up with the most memorable character from the original "Friday Night Lights" book: running back Boobie Miles. I'd imagine that reading this short text in isolation would be pointless, but amidst the context of FNL it is very interesting to see how life is for the former high school football star. Bissinger writes in his usual personal style, really making you feel as if you're right there in Texas with him. Fantastic.
