Such an awesome series from a funny , smart , positive can do presenter !!I first saw this on youtube and particually liked the pistol and rifle parts as those are my favorite weapon systems . I learned a great deal about their technical workings with great computer generated 3D graphics as to how they work . The other parts are very interesting too and provide an interesting back ground into various weapon systems of past and present in a humorous , light hearted presentation which really engages the viewer . Awesome stuff , and a great price !!

Americans certainly love their weapons and this series is a celebration of that. R. Lee Ermey, best known for his role in "Full Metal Jacket" is an excellent host for this series, with a real enthusiasm for the subject.

Larger than life Gunny R. Lee Ermey brings the complete range of weapons from pistols to tanks to our TV using excellent 3D images to illustrate the theory and then gets his hands dirty shooting everything he can get his hands on from the M1 Abrams to the Glock 18 fully auto 9mm pistol. He just loves destroying things from cars to bottles. This is a great series for anyone interested in weapons. Made by the History channel the vidoe quality is excellent as is the audio.

This set is excellent value at Amazon's current selling price.

absolutely amazing. very different style to say...the nra set of documentaries, this is waaay more over the top, funny etc. And it has R Lee ermy)sp?) from full metal jacket, who comes across as genuine, and genuinely passionate about all things that go boom. Also comes across as authentic as actually was in the army and actually is a gunnery sergeant(according to wikepedia got given this rank after he left the army) and again according to wkepedia isactually a "right wing" all American gun enthusias as apparently he's a ted cruise supporter. Documentary is very well priced, very informative and as I said very entertaining, covering a very impressive range of weaponry(e.g helicopters, knives, shotguns etc) can't recommend any more highly for anyone interested in guns and the military.

If you are interested in guns then your going to buy this and give it a five star rating. I see that so far no pacifists have bought this as there aren't any one star ratings.

There are a few negatives as the series has a lot to cover and limited time they have however packed in as much as they can. The narration is excellent and the animations and practical demonstrations provide a massive amount of information. What we need now is a the R. Lee Ermey Lock N' Load book that fills in the gaps and provides some encyclopedic extra information on the weapons covered.

Oooo rah! What could be a better way to learn about history than have Gunnary Sgt. Hartman himself teach you all about it. Simple show with each firearm briefed from the earliest concepts to modern day. LOCK AND LOAD!

Who better to host this series than a professional US Marine, and who better as a person than R Lee Ermy. In Lock n' Load with R Lee Ermy, you get to see stunning 3D representations of the weapons, learn about their development, and actually see their use by a guy unafraid to get down and dirty trigger time with the real thing. Factual, and sometimes humorous, this series is without a doubt excellent, and excellently presented by a truly professional soldier. Other than DIY weapon use at the range, or getting your hands on a helicopter gunship or an artillery piece, what more could anyone want? It does not get much better than this! Superb!!

This is ridiculously good. Gunny is so enthusiastic with various weapons you can be forgiven for asking if he is actually the best person to be doing the show and the answer is 'yes!' On a serious note, you do learn quite a lot but he is completely over the top, which actually isn't a bad thing because he clearly loves what he does.

Keep your powder dry and your eyes on the target! Who could question the quality when it's presented by R. Lee Ermey? Ooh-rah! As for delivery etc, all sound, arrived in good time and all that. Now, back to disc 2...

If you are a fan of guns or R. Lee Ermey or both, this show is for you. No presenter is more entertaining or enthusiastic then R. Lee Ermey when it comes to guns. Being a former Marine, Gunnery Sergeant R. Lee Ermey knows weapons and is more than happy to fire off a few (or many) rounds himself to show what they can do. From shotguns to military vehicles, there's plenty to see and learn while having laughs along the way and history and trivia provided too. I enjoyed every minute of this series and learnt a lot too. A great show and a fantastic purchase. Oorah!
