Poor for mobile use, great for indoors.
on 27 September 2011
I wanted these to use with my walkman phone, as the earbuds were beginning to irritate my ears. They didn't look as good as I'd expected, but seemed pretty sturdy and the cable was a good length. There were no problems of compatibility with my phone and I was able to use them easily enough. The cans are marked for left and right, the right being easily spotted as it is labelled in red. And when walking there was no interference, the sound came through fine. That's the plus side. On the down side; they are heavy. Not massively heavy, but enough to become uncomfortable when walking about in them. They slipped frequently (perhaps because I have long and very soft hair). The left side in particular seemed to have a very fuzzy sound to it and the stereo on many tracks became almost mono. I wear glasses, and I did find they compressed the arms of my glasses - not enough to be a serious problem, but enough to get on my nerves, and when I took them off my glasses had been slightly bowed and I had to reshape them so they didn't fall off. And no, the volume isn't high enough. I am not a fan of loud noise, I have very sensitive hearing, and using these I had to raise the volume on my phone so loud that when I detached them and it rang I nearly jumped out of my skin. So as headphones for mobile music they are poor - I'd only give them a single star. But when I attached them to my bedroom cd player and listened (with my glasses off) I was fairly happy; when I wasn't moving around they stayed put and I got reasonable sound from them. But I have had to buy a different set for use with my phone.
