Andre Rieu in a Flash!
on 13 March 2011
I've just finished watching the 'Moonlight Serenade' DVD, after first listening to the accompanying CD - which was very good listening indeed. I left the DVD till last expecting to settle back in anticipation of a fiest of music; a startling production of colour and pure entertainment and of course that inimitable joy of watching the orchestra play at the highest level of skill too which we have all become so accustomed to, from this remarkable master of the modern musical stage.
Flash Bang Flop.
Who ever put this production together truly spoilt what should of been a musical extravaganza of gobsmacking proportions. With 25 cameras to play with, it was clear that just 8 would of done the job. Where the main problem lay, was in the brain of the clot who put it together, believing that the more clips they could get in, the better - WRONG - quality fella' not quantity ! After only a few minutes, my head started realing from one cut to another at breakneck speed; half a second clips in many cases. Aggravating, infuryating, and really disapointing; followed by hopes of one day wringing the neck of whoever put it together spoiling what would of clearly been a pure joy. I watched in painful disbelief. What a waste of talent, time, effort and money.
Who wrote the good comments ? The production team!
Next time guys send the whole package to England to be edited by profesionals. And give everyone something we should, and could of recieved - a magnificient show.
My advice! Turn off the picture folks - listen to the music - enjoy.
