I would recommend buying one like this with variable gain so you can adjust it for optimum results

Bought this to replace a very old signal booster that had been installed many, many years ago but had seen better days (it was overheating and I feared it had become dangerous). One of the benefits of this particular model is the variable gain (my previous one was fixed at 22dB gain). This proved vital, as at maximum gain the signal was too strong, causing blocking and even occasional signal drop-outs. However, after a bit of trial and error, I managed to find the 'sweet-spot' for obtaining the best balance between signal strength and signal quality. Doesn't come with any instructions (as they are designed for fitting by professional aerial installers), but there are plenty of guides available on the internet. And it isn't really that difficult. Most people should be able to install one OK provided you have easy access to your main aerial (mine is in the loft). Ideally, the main booster part should be installed near to the aerial itself, which involved me unplugging the lead in the aerial and replacing it with a shorter lead to the booster. Then the long lead went from the booster to the power unit.
