I'm using it as my main source - and getting A grades.

I'd like to start off by saying don't listen to your teacher when they say you need wider reading and to use the big textbook for an A grade.
A level Religious Studies is not difficult with the right resources. Unfortunately, there are many poor resources out there. A very good example of a very bad resource is Jill's textbook version of the revision guide. It over complicates theories, uses complex sentence structures and gives far too much detail when considering the exam is only worth 70 marks over 2 topics.
A level Religious Studies does not have to be complicated - and this guide is what you need to make life considerably easier. As long as you provide application of the theory and perhaps a little of your own evaluation, it's easy to get 30/35 marks using the knowledge in the guide alone.
I used the AS version of the guide last year and managed to get the highest UMS in the class - I don't say that to brag, I say that to save you from getting bogged down in the awful textbook which many used mistakenly thinking it would help.
