You can enable Parental Controls to restrict access to the Web Browser, the Kindle Store, and Archived Items / Cloud on your Kindle.
To set Parental Controls on Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Touch:
1. From the Home screen, tap the Menu icon and then select Settings. 2. Tap Device Options and then select Parental Controls. 3. Tap the slider next to any of the available options (Web Browser, Kindle Store, Cloud) to restrict access to them. 4. Set a password and then select OK.
To set Parental Controls on Kindle and Kindle Keyboard:
1. From the Home screen, select Menu, and then Settings. 2. Navigate to Parental Controls by pressing the Next Page or Previous Page buttons and select Set. 3. Set password restrictions for any of the available options by selecting "turn off" 4. Set a password and then select "submit".
A lock icon will appear at the top of the screen. While Parental Controls are enabled, the option to deregister your Kindle will be greyed out on your device.
To remove or change Parental Controls, you'll need to enter the password you used to setup Parental Controls.
If you forget your password, you'll need to reset your Kindle to factory defaults.
For Kindle and Kindle Keyboard: type resetmykindle as the Parental Controls password.
For Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Touch: type 111222777 as the Parental Controls password.
If you reset your Kindle to factory defaults, you'll need to re-register the device to your Amazon account and re-download your Kindle content from Archived Items / Cloud.
