Restarting your device can resolve issues like a frozen screen.

Follow these steps to restart your device. These steps will not remove content from your device:

1. Press / slide and hold the power button for a full 20 seconds.

2. After 6 to 8 seconds, the screen will go blank. This is normal. Continue to hold the power button.

3. Once the 20 seconds have elapsed, release the power button. The charge indicator light will turn on after a few moments. For Kindle Fire, press the power button again.

4. Your Kindle should now restart.

For Kindle Fire, press and hold the power button, then tap the Shut Down button when it appears on the screen. After the device has completely turned off, press the power button to restart your Kindle Fire.
