View and Share Photos on Kindle Fire

From your Photos library, you can view any photos imported or transferred to your device, email photos from your Kindle Fire, or post photos to a connected social network account. Help for Kindle Fire (2nd Generation), Kindle Fire HD 7" (2nd Generation), and Kindle Fire HD 8.9" (2nd Generation).

To view your photos, go to Home, and then tap Photos.

  • Tap Cloud to see compatible photos stored in your Amazon Drive account. You must be registered to the same account you used to register your Kindle Fire to see your Amazon Drive photos. To learn more about Amazon Drive, go to About Your Cloud Drive Account.
  • Tap Device to see photos taken by the front-facing camera, if your device has one, or downloaded to your Kindle Fire.
  • To navigate the Photos library:
    • Open the album: Tap the album to open it.
    • Zoom in and out of a photo: Pinch inward or outward with your fingers.
    • View an album in Grid View: Hold your Kindle Fire in Portrait mode.
    • View an album in Mosaic View: Hold your Kindle Fire in Landscape mode.
  • Personal videos taken with the camera, if your device has one, or imported to your device also appear in the Photos library. To play a personal video, tap the Play icon on the video.

To post photos on your Facebook account, you'll need to link your Facebook account to your Kindle Fire.

To share your photos:

  1. From Home, tap Photos, and then tap Cloud or Device tab.

    Note: To share photos from Facebook in the Device tab, install the Facebook app from the Amazon Appstore on your Kindle Fire.

  2. Tap the Share icon:
    • Tap Email to email your photo.
    • Tap Facebook to post the photo to your Facebook account.
    • Tap More to send a photo using another app installed on your Kindle Fire.
