About Parental Controls

Prime Video parental controls give you the ability to set restrictions for the video content that can be purchased or viewed on your connected devices.

You can set and manage parental controls for your connected devices from Prime Video Settings - Parental Controls.

Note: To use Prime Video parental controls and purchase restrictions, you need to set a 5-digit Prime Video PIN for your account. To learn more, go to How to Set Your Prime Video PIN and How to Set Prime Video Parental Controls .

Purchase Restrictions

You can use the PIN on Purchase option under "Purchase Restrictions" to block the purchase of Prime Video movies and TV shows.

When you enable PIN on Purchase, you'll be asked to enter your Prime Video PIN to authorize Prime Video orders on your registered devices and the Amazon website.

Important: PIN on purchase does not apply to Amazon Fire TV devices, Fire tablets, and Fire phone, which have parental control settings directly on the device to restrict purchasing.

Viewing Restrictions

Viewing restrictions give you the option to block playback of videos from certain ratings categories.

When you have viewing restrictions set, a "lock" Parental Controls Lock
symbol and messaging displays next to eligible titles with ratings in your restricted categories. If you try to start watching one of these titles, you're prompted to enter your Prime Video PIN.
