Reset Your Alexa Companion Device

If your device is unresponsive, try to reset it.

Having trouble with your device? Restart it first to see if it resolves the problem. To restart your device, unplug the power adapter from the back of the device. For devices with batteries, remove and reinsert the batteries to restart the device.

Important: Do not reset or turn off your device if you're setting it up for the first time.

Echo Sub

To reset your Echo Sub, press and hold the Action button for 25 seconds. For setup instructions, go to Set Up Your Echo Sub.

Echo Connect

To reset your Echo Connect device:

  1. Use a paper clip (or similar tool) to press and hold the Reset button for twenty seconds.
  2. After twenty seconds, all LEDs flash. Then, the power LED is white, and the Wi-Fi LED flashes amber. Your Echo Connect enters setup mode.

Echo Link and Echo Link Amp

To reset your device, press and hold the Action button on the back for 25 seconds. For setup instructions, go to Set Up Your Echo Link or Echo Link Amp.

Echo Buttons

To reset your device, unpair the device in the Alexa app:

  1. Select Devices "".
  2. Navigate to your Echo device and select Bluetooth Devices.
  3. Select the icon next to your Echo Buttons and choose Forget Device.
  4. Go back to the device settings page.
  5. Under Connected Devices, select Echo Buttons and then Unpair.
