Manage Your Lists

Learn how to use Amazon Alexa to access and manage your lists.

Access Your Lists

You can access your lists from:

  • The Alexa app
  • Your Amazon Alexa devices
  • Amazon Shopping app

You can link third-party list services to Alexa to have access to your lists in those apps. To learn more, go to Link a Third-Party List Service to Alexa.

You can view your lists without an Internet connection when you use the Alexa on your phone or tablet.

Note: Adults in your Amazon Household can add or edit items on your lists.

Create and Edit Lists By Voice or By App

You can create lists by your voice or by the app.

To use your voice:

  1. For creating a list by voice, say, "Create a list."
  2. Alexa asks, "What would you like to name the list?"
  3. After confirming a list name, you can then begin adding items to it.

To use the Alexa app:

  1. Go to the menu, and then select Lists.
  2. Select Create List, type a name for the new list, and then select Add (+).
  3. You can then rename, archive or delete a list any time.

Manage Your Lists By Voice or by App

You can manage your lists by using your voice or the app.

To manage lists by your voice:

  • Say things like, "Add apples to my shopping list," or "What's on my To-Do list?"

From the Alexa app:

  1. Go to Menu, and then select Lists.
  2. Choose a list.
  3. Add an item - Enter the item in the text field, and then select Add (+).
  4. You can then add items, mark them as complete, or delete them.

Manage Your Lists on Echo Devices with a Screen

You can ask Alexa to show your lists on-screen -- just say, "Show me my (shopping / to-do list)." Once your list is on-screen, you can select an item to edit it. You can also say, "Remove (item / item number)," to manage the list by voice.

Print Your Alexa Shopping List

To print your Alexa Shopping list:

  1. Go to
  2. In the menu, select Lists.
  3. Select the list you want to print.
