About Amazon Households

Amazon Household allows you to share Amazon benefits with another adult in your household. Both adults share select Prime Benefits, digital content using Family Library, and can manage the profiles of children in the Household.

An Amazon Household can contain up to six members:

  • Two adults, each with their own Amazon account.
  • Up to four children, child profiles are not enabled to shop on Amazon.

Sharing Amazon Prime Benefits

Selected Amazon Prime benefits can only be shared between the two adults in an Amazon Household. Prime Student members (trial or paid), Prime Video members (free trial or paid) or invited guests of other Prime members can't share their benefits. However, other types of Amazon Prime members can share eligible benefits with those types of members.

The following Prime benefits can be shared between the two adults in the Amazon Household:

  • Amazon Prime delivery benefits.
  • Prime Video (UK residents and streaming only).
  • Prime Early Access.
  • Prime Reading
  • Prime Wardrobe
  • Selected Amazon Family benefits.

Note: In order to share Family Library and selected Amazon Prime benefits, both adult account holders need to authorise each other to use all payment cards associated with their Amazon.co.uk accounts for purchases on Amazon.co.uk. This will not affect either of their current payment settings, but each adult will be able to copy the payment cards of the other account to his or her Amazon account and use them for purchases on Amazon.co.uk. To share Prime Video streaming, both adults must have a 1-Click billing address and payment method within the UK. If you don't, you'll be asked to provide this during the sign up process.

The following Amazon Prime benefits can't be shared with adult members of Amazon Household:

  • Prime Video downloads.
  • The ability to invite guests to share Amazon Prime delivery benefits.
  • Kindle First.
  • Twitch Prime.

Digital Content Through Family Library

With Family Library, you can link two Amazon accounts and share eBooks, apps and games on your Kindle, other compatible Amazon devices, and media apps. Content from both accounts can also be added to up to four child profiles through Manage Your Content and Devices or parental controls settings on the Fire Tablets and Kindle eReaders. Children can view content on Fire for Kids and Kindle for Kids tablets. While sharing payment instruments is a requirement for adults to share digital content through Family Library, this is not required for an adult to share digital content with child profiles in the Household. Please see About Family Library for more information.
