Upload Your Music

For customers with a paid Amazon Music Storage subscription, Amazon Music for PC and Mac helps you add your personal music collection to My Music. Once uploaded you can play it from all of your connected Amazon Music devices.

In order to upload your music, you must be a paid Amazon Music Storage subscriber, and you need to install the Amazon Music for PC or Mac. To learn more about installing Amazon Music for PC and Mac, go to Download with Amazon Music for PC and Mac.

Note: The Amazon Music Storage subscription plans (free and paid) are being retired and new subscriptions are no longer being accepted. See About Amazon Music Storage Subscriptions for more information.

To upload your music, open Amazon Music for PC and Mac and use one of the following methods:

  • Drag and drop files from your computer into the Upload selection in the right sidebar under Actions.
  • Select My Music at the top of the screen. Next, select Songs, and choose the Offline filter in the right navigation sidebar. Click the upload icon next to the music you want to upload.
  • Select the Upload button under Actions in the right navigation sidebar, and select files or folders to upload.
  • You can choose to automatically add music to the Amazon Music app from your computer. Click the arrow next to your Amazon ID in the top right of the application window, and select Preferences. Next, choose your preferred folder or location under the Automatically import music from option.

You can see uploaded music, and music that's uploading, by clicking the Uploaded filter in the left navigation sidebar.

Note: Some record companies require us to insert identifiers in the metadata that accompanies music when you download it from the Digital Music Store or My Music. For more information, go to About Record Company Required Metadata.
