Amazon Mobile for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch


Installing Amazon Mobile

To shop on Amazon.co.uk from your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, you'll need to visit the iPhone App Store and download the Amazon Mobile application.

To install Amazon Mobile for the iPhone/iPad/iPod touch:

  1. Visit www.apple.com/iphone/appstore/ by tapping the App Store icon on the springboard of your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. You can also get the application through the iTunes Store.
  2. Search for Amazon Mobile or find it in the alphabetical list of applications.
  3. Follow the on-screen install instructions.

When your installation is complete, simply tap the Amazon Mobile icon on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to start shopping on Amazon.co.uk.


Setting Up Mobile 1-Click

To make purchasing on the Amazon app fast and easy, you can turn Mobile 1-click on with just a few simple steps. If you already have 1-Click enabled for your computer, we'll display the default settings so you can confirm them when you first turn Mobile 1-click for the Amazon.co.uk for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch app.

To turn on Mobile 1-Click from the iPhone or iPod touch app:

  1. Tap the More icon at the bottom of any Amazon Mobile page.
  2. Select Your Account and then "View or Change 1-Click Settings" under the Account Settings section.
  3. Sign in with your e-mail address and password if prompted.
  4. Set the name of your device as it will appear in Your Account.
  5. Select a default delivery address and payment method by tapping on the Delivery Address and Payment section. If the displayed information is correct, you don't need to make any changes.
  6. Set the "Mobile 1-Click" slider to 'on' in the 1-Click Ordering section.
  7. Review the Mobile 1-Click settings. Simply tap the box and enter new information if you want to change it.

To turn on Mobile 1-Click from the iPad:

  1. Tap the "Your Account" icon at the bottom of any Amazon Mobile page.
  2. Select "View or Change 1-Click Settings" under the Account Settings section.
  3. Sign in with your e-mail address and password if prompted.
  4. Set the "Mobile 1-Click" slider to 'on' in the 1-Click Ordering section.
  5. Review the name or phone number that appears in the Mobile Phone Name section. Simply tap the box and enter new information if you want to change it.
  6. Select a default delivery address and payment method by tapping on the Delivery Address and Payment section. If the displayed information is correct, you don't need to make any changes.

You can also view your Mobile 1-Click settings in Your Account on your computer. You'll see a box in the upper right-hand corner labelled "Mobile 1-Click" that will display your device name or number and provide a button to turn off 1-Click if you wish.


Searching for Items

To search for items you want to buy or research on the iPhone or iPod Touch:

  1. Tap the Search Amazon.co.uk button on the Amazon Mobile home page or the Search icon at the bottom of any Amazon Mobile page.
  2. Enter search term and tap the GO button at the bottom of the keyboard.

You'll see the top search results displayed. Simply scroll through the results on each screen to sift through the available products.

  • To refine your search results: Tap the Department button on the search results page and choose from the available categories. We'll display the total number of matching products in the category when you return to the search results screen.

To search for items you want to buy or research on the iPad:

  • Enter a search term on the top navigation bar and tap the Search button at the bottom right 2nd row of the keyboard or tap one of the suggested search terms shown below the search field.

You'll see the top search results displayed. Scroll through the results on each screen to sift through the available products.

  • To refine your search results in landscape view: Tap the Refine button on the top navigation bar from the search/detail page and choose from the available categories. We'll display the total number of matching products in the category when you return to the search results screen.
  • To refine your search results in portrait view: Tap the button on the top navigation bar that has the search term to see the various search results. Select the Refine button on the top navigation bar from the search/detail page and choose from the available categories. We'll display the total number of matching products in the category when you return to the search results screen.

Purchasing Digital Content

Digital content such as MP3 files, Kindle ebooks and Amazon Video On Demand purchases are not currently supported on the Amazon Mobile App for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. You can add these items to your Wishlist using the app and then complete your purchase later on your computer or in Mobile Safari on your device.

Viewing Product Details

Viewing Product Details on the iPhone and iPod Touch:

Tap on the desired item in the search results to view the product details. You can also tap on each section on the product details page to view additional information in each area. For example:

  • To see a larger image and/or other available product images: Tap on the product image.
  • To view editorial reviews, descriptions, and more product details: Tap on the product name.
  • To see other buying options: Tap on the "Compare New & Used Offers" section.

Viewing Product Details on the iPad:

In landscape mode, tap on the desired item in the search results to view the product details on the same page on the right side of the screen. You can change which detail page you look at by choosing a different search term from the list on the left side of the page.

  • To see a larger image and/or other available product images: Tap on the product image.
  • To view descriptions and more product details: Scroll down on the page.
  • To view customer reviews: Tap the stars or the number of reviews at the top of the page near the product price. You can also scroll down on the page to see Customer Reviews.

Placing Your Order

For the iPhone and iPod touch: Scroll to the bottom of the main product detail page below the Customer Reviews section to see the product's availability and your buying options.

For the iPad: All buying options are on the main product detail page.

To order using Mobile1-Click:

  1. Visit the product detail page for an item you wish to buy.
  2. Tap the Buy Now with 1-Click button at the bottom of the product detail page. Amazon Prime members will also see 1-Click ordering options depending on the Prime delivery options available.

If you simply see a Buy Now button, tap that and we'll walk you through just a couple of steps to complete your purchase.

To order through the Shopping Basket:

  1. Visit the product detail page for an item you wish to buy.
  2. Tap the Add to basket button. You'll see the basket icon at the bottom of the screen change.
  3. Tap the Shopping Basket tab at the bottom of any Amazon mobile page when you are finished adding items to your Basket.
  4. If you need to edit the items in your Basket, or wish to move items to/from the Basket to Save For Later, tap the Edit button in the upper left corner and tap the appropriate button(s).
  5. Tap the Checkout button in the upper right-hand corner when you are ready to complete your order.
  6. Review your order. You can edit the payment method, delivery address and delivery options by tapping on those items on the Review Order screen.
  7. Tap the Place Order button to complete your purchase.

You'll see an order confirmation screen when your purchase has been completed.


Reviewing or Changing Your Order

You can view and change orders you place through Your Account on Amazon Mobile just as you can when visiting Amazon.co.uk on a computer.

For the iPhone and iPod touch: To view Your Account, tap on the More tab at the bottom of any Amazon Mobile page and then select Your Account.
For the iPad: Tap on Your Account at the bottom of any Amazon Mobile page.

To view, edit, or cancel your orders:

  1. Tap the "View/Cancel Items or Orders" or "Track Packages" option. Either selection will display your order history.
  2. Sign into your Amazon.co.uk account if prompted.
  3. Select a displayed order by tapping the "View or track order" option.
  4. If your order has not entered the dispatch process, you'll see options to edit or cancel the order.

If the order you wish to view is not displayed, change the "View Order Period" option at the top of the Order Summary screen.

Order Consolidation

If you place multiple mobile orders within 30 minutes, Amazon.co.uk will combine Amazon fulfilled orders into as few dispatchments as possible to reduce delivery costs.


Features on the More Tab (iPhone and iPod touch)

When you tap the More tab at the bottom of any Amazon Mobile page, you'll have access to these Amazon.co.uk features:

  • Today's Deals: Clicking on the Gold Box will take you to the Deal of the Day, Our Best Deals, Lightning Deals, and your Quick Picks.
  • Recommendations: Your Amazon.co.uk is a way of making sure that you don't miss the perfect item. We determine your interests by examining the items you've purchased, items you've told us you own, and items you've rated. We then compare your activity on our site with that of other customers. Using this comparison, we are able to recommend other items that may interest you.
  • Find a Wish List or Registry: Search on Amazon for Wish Lists and Registries for your friends and family. Enables you to purchase directly off someone’s wish list or registry.
  • Your Account: Manage your orders and your account settings.
  • Subscribe & Save: View and manage your Subscribe & Save orders.
  • Help: View a selection of Help topics to assist you when shopping on Amazon.co.uk or contact Customer Service for personal assistance.
  • About: View the version number and release date for the currently installed Amazon Mobile for the iPhone/iPod application. Includes a link to Amazon Legal Information. Allows you to read our standard agreement for using Amazon.co.uk and also access and read the Amazon.com.uk Privacy Policy.
  • Contact Us: Use your e-mail to send us comments or suggestions about the Amazon Mobile App. Also includes links to contact Customer Service via phone or e-mail for issues related to orders, your account, etc.
