How do I disable or hide the Amazon Toolbar?

For Internet Explorer 8 users
To disable or hide the Amazon Toolbar from Internet Explorer 8, click 'View' on browser menu bar, select 'Toolbars' and then uncheck 'Amazon Toolbar'. You can also simply click on the close button ('x' button) located at the left of the Amazon Toolbar.

For Firefox 3 users

How do I uninstall the Amazon Toolbar?

For Internet Explorer 8 users
The Amazon Toolbar may be uninstalled using your computer's Add/Remove Programs feature. Open your Windows Start menu, go to 'Settings', click on 'Control Panel.' Then double click 'Add/Remove Programs.' Click on 'Amazon Toolbar' and then click the 'Remove' button. The next time you open a new browser window, the Amazon Toolbar will no longer appear.

For Firefox 3 users
To uninstall the Amazon Toolbar from Firefox 3 browser, click 'Tools' on browser menu bar, select 'Add-ons', select 'Amazon Toolbar' and then click on uninstall button to uninstall Amazon Toolbar.


What can I do if the Amazon Toolbar does not appear to be displaying correctly (for Internet Explorer 8 users)?

If you notice that the right portion of the Amazon Toolbar is not visible after installation, you can reposition the Amazon Toolbar at a different place within the browser. To reposition the Amazon Toolbar, click on the 'View' menu in Internet Explorer and select 'Toolbars'. Then uncheck 'Lock the Toolbars'. Once your toolbars are unlocked, you can reposition them where you would like them to be. Once you're satisfied with the new position, you can lock it into place by re-checking 'Lock the Toolbars'.

How can I change the Amazon Toolbar to link to another Amazon site?

To change the Amazon Toolbar to link to another Amazon site (e.g., to link to Amazon.de instead of Amazon.com), click the 'Option' options symbol located on the right side of the Amazon Toolbar and select 'Options…' from the menu. A new window entitled 'Choose Your Amazon Locale' will appear showing a list of available Amazon sites. Select one of the Amazon sites in that window and click "Save Changes."
