Chris Packham has gone, with this book, from being an enthusiastic, knowledgeable wildlife presenter, to a serious, interesting and very able author. This book is full of anecdote and experiences, but all is held together with an intriguing, sometimes infuriating and confusing way of swapping back and forth in time, much like I imagine his mind working on an everyday level. He has a way with words that captures the attention and has an obvious love for all things furry, feathered, creepy, crawly and otherwise wild. A good read and a pleasant surprise. He doesn't mince his words by the way. Forget the Chris Packham you think you know.
