I've had this for a couple of weeks now and I'm still not sure whether I like it or not. Although it looks good on the bedside, for £50 I would have expected a better build quality; it feels rather cheap plastic with clicky buttons. The instructions are ok, but it is quite complicated and fiddly to set the alarm time, and I'm never quite sure if I'm just going to get the sunrise effect or the sound alarm as well. I think I'm using it correctly but the sunset effect kicks in when I'm using is as a bedside lamp for reading at night so it gradually dims and needs to be brightened, and I find the whole display on/off, bright/dim slightly haphazard. The sound alarm is definitely effective; it actually made me sit bolt upright in bed when it went off - hence my keenness in future just to have sunrise ... I think the sunrise wakes me but it's so gentle that I'm not really sure! The real test will come when I'm back at work and have to get up much earlier than I have been doing for the past fortnight. However, it seems to work and I decided to keep it; if you choose to buy it just be prepared to spend possibly more time than I have setting it up!
