Communication is the key to this method of training and understanding and Kate Farmer illustrates clearly how to achieve it with any horse using the body language horses understand and use in the herd. Kate also shows that "kind but firm" is the way to gain a horses' trust and respect making it choose to come to you and work with you. This particular lesson is one that needs to be learned by many would be horsemen and women and Kate not only explains clearly how to achieve it but demonstrates it throughout the dvd and training booklet.
I have started many horses using these methods and they do work with any horse if correctly applied, making the learning process completely untraumatic for both horse and handler.
I cannot recommend this dvd highly enough to anyone who wants learn about communication with horses and how to read and anticipate a horse's behaviour. Both as an introduction to equine behaviour for those wishing to learn from the beginning and for experienced riders who have come up through the traditional system and want to add to their understanding of horses.
