Originally I was pleased with the command bar,I brought it on launch date from Amazon, initially I had a few teething problems which Polk eu customer service dealt with and were very helpful,then the hdmi link to TV failed, couldn't get any joy to getting the problem solved so resorted to using optical cable,this was ok until I updated TV to an Atmos enabled version, which means I now needed HDMI connection, because Atmos content is limited I continued to use optical lead, now,however,the soundbar is continuously trying to do an over the air update,without success,I have tried factory resets,moving soundbar to different locations,incase the bar was getting confused with other WiFi signals,still no good,
initially the bar was working in a multi room group,that has now failed. Tried to figure out how to just use the bar without Alexa so that at least I would still have some sort of use for it,but,so far have failed,no wonder the price of the bar has crashed.had I still been able to use as a soundbar without the annoying voice announcements,I would have said at the current price, makes for a decent buy, however,having said that,there are better bars for the same price around,shop for one of those.ps,set bar to demo mode one ( optical setting ),so I wouldn't get the annoying update announcements every 3 or 4 minutes,now the volume keeps turning itself to high every few minutes,to avoid upsetting any near neighbours I have now unplugged the machine and resorted to using an old bar I was going to give to a charity shop,I have also noted that the Polk connect app was updated earlier today,so will see if that helps resetting the bar in the near future, don't watch this space as I'm not at all optimistic that it will,. oK, Humble pie time,after playing around with various locations to try and update the system,a lightbulb moment came,I retraced all previous steps I had taken, decided trying uncoupling from multiroom via Alexa app, rebooted my WiFi system,hey presto,update accepted,now no annoying announcements,however,still can't get the HDMI arc to connect,which it previous had,so just 3 stars rated for fustration created to me,also apologies to Polk,seems problem was more Amazon as I understand they push out over the air updates.that will be my final comments,going for cold shower.
