Izzie Greene is a caterer on Poe, the US’s current TV smash hit. She has just been dumped by her waste of space ex Ritchie, oh and she has a crush on Poe’s star, the enigmatic Scots actor Cardwell Bennett.
Reading the above you might be forgiven for thinking that Izzie is an American version of Bridget Jones, but you’d be very wrong. She has considerably more class and Mr Darcy isn’t even mentioned, thank God.
Throw in a bitchy wanna be actress, a tabloid hack with a not so hidden agenda, film set politics, a smear campaign and you have one compelling, turn the pages fast as you can to see what happens next drama. Ms Pierce has created an engaging world with a diversity of colourful characters, the fact that she has thrown a vicious media harassment campaign and a mystery or two into the mix and stood back to watch it blow makes her a storyteller to reckon with,.
This book will make you, laugh, cry and gasp in both wonder and horror as the story unfolds and it’s a rare book that can generate such a maelstrom of emotional response.
I will definitely look for more books by this author, but for now I can’t recommend this highly enough.
