This book is just amazing. In a few, apparently simple sentences, Michael Rosen explains sadness and grief in a way that is both accessible for children and beneficial for adults. It really is a work of art, poetry at its very best. The illustrations work perfectly with the words, so each page tells a story of its own. In telling some of his personal story and explaining some of his journey through the grief that accompanies death and change, Michael Rosen has composed a much needed gem, which I believe should be made compulsory reading in all schools. It is helpful to anyone who has experienced loss, grief or sadness - everyone in other words.
