Having done a major "makeover" on our garden, we wanted a chiminea that looked good but would also be functional as it was going to be needed regularly in the cold North East of England! The good news is that the design works really well. Fires are easy to get started and burn fiercely, generating lots of heat. The bad news is that, after initially looking stunning, it became very rusty within just a few weeks. Obviously you can't expect the paint to withstand extreme temperatures but I was disappointed in how quickly the appearance deteriorated. So if you want this to be visually appealing over the longer term, be prepared to invest in (expensive) specialist paint on a regular basis.
