For many years I've been an avid Julian Cope fan, I love (most) of his music and most of his books, but this is just awful! The character's are one dimensional and the plot is non existent! This is a real let down for anyone who loves real road novels like that of Jack Kerouac et al will know the formula by now. For some reason Cope's tried to achieve the same kind of result with 131 and failed dismally. The one thing that separates this from real road novels is that the likes of Kerouac et al made their characters believable and the situation were identifiable to the reader. This is plagued with Cope's pseudo babble that means nothing to anyone but Cope himself. I genuinely tried to get through this but it's basically unreadable!
Makes me wonder how much the cover 'reviewers' were paid for their input, or even if they genuinely read the book!
