This is a brilliant read if one wishes to understand the soul of the Labour Party. I now understand why the party has not disintegrated and, maybe, what holds it together. It is also interesting to find that the Tory fear tactics of claiming that voting Labour will lead to an immediate Bolshevik style revolution have been employed since the 1920s and 1930s. The book shows very clearly how the core of labour has held strongly to democratic parliamentary socialism and always by a substantial majority. Ralph Miliband is a great writer and it is a pleasure to read.
