Customer Review

25 March 2011
This book is a compilation of diary entries spanning from the 17th century to the 21st century. The diary entries are by the famous and the not so famous, such notables as Beatrix Potter,Dorothy Wordsworth,Thomas Hardy through to Alan Bennett. Many of the entries evoke a nostalgia for life in the country. Some stories are sad (the man who took his dog to the vet)some brutal and some funny. An interesting read into the world of the diarist and their part in our local, social and natural history.
