3.0 out of 5 stars Lost its charm., 16 Dec. 2016

The first episode was hilarious, I even somewhat enjoyed the second episode - after that, I'm afraid it's losing its charm and entertainment factor. Celebrity brains crash is becoming annoying and pointless, and the scripted comedy is downright cringe. It's not excruciatingly bad, it's just not as good as the charm and humour the original Top Gear had. Hopefully it will improve.

A completely endearing, charming and emotional chunk of songs with powerful drumming, beautiful twinkly guitars, and the abstract lyrics and distinctive vocals of Tim Kinsella. Completely unique within the 90s emo scene.

What you get in this collection is almost every Cap'n Jazz song recorded as well as the entirety of their now long out of print debut album. Well worth buying.

Put HUM and Shiner in a blender, add some emo and you get this gem of an album. Beautiful, flowing, dreamy tunes from start to finish. Hopefully one day this album will get re-released and appreciated by more. An hidden gem from the 90s.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning., 27 April 2016

Powerful, emotive, and intense "blackgaze" with hints of screamo and post-rock. While not entirely original, it's done so well that it's hard not to love, or at least appreciate. Definitely worth checking out if you're a fan of Deafheaven, Envy, or even Slint (Slint fans check out "Washerwoman") Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful., 19 April 2016

This is not an album that needs repeated listens for it "click" with you, it's instantly enjoyable upon first listen, you may even feel the need to hit the repeat button after it finishes. The adjectives that come to mind to describe this are: heartfelt, powerful, moving, sincere and emotive. And they're all the right words to use. So much power and passion in the music and the gruff, shouted, emotive vocals. HIGHLY recommended.

One of the best albums I have bought in a long time. A sprawling, unique, beautiful adventure. Plenty of textures, layers and sounds. Amazing.

Absolutely awesome. A fun, very exciting, intense and highly enjoyable album. Featuring the unmistakable vocals and lyrics of Patrick Kindlon (Self Defense Family). Give it a try, you're bound to feel chills on "Bagged" and the album closer "What" - highly recommended.

Craw's fourth and final album is a relatively short, but glorious burst of creative noise. Well crafted and very well produced. These guys knew how to play their instruments, combine that with strange vocals and utterly bizarre lyrics, you get yourself one creative album. Sadly underrated, however. Craw deserve more credit.

Awesome!

On Friday 9th January, the release date of this album, I went onto iTunes and sampled it - I was struck by the inventive, beautiful sounds that I was hearing. I immediately purchased the album. On Monday, I awoke to the shocking news that David Bowie had died. The album then took on another meaning of its own. If I could describe this album in two words, those two words would be: haunting and unique. The almost prophetic lyrics really adds to the album's haunting quality. Credit due to all the musicians that performed on this album, they did a stunning job. Beautiful.

RIP Starman.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very enjoyable., 22 Jan. 2016
This review is from: Jesu / Sun Kil Moon (Audio CD)
I received my copy of this on Wednesday (I ordered mine directly through the Caldo Verde website) and I've had the chance to listen to it all the way through 3 times so I've been able to form a solid opinion. There are problems with this, it's not flawless, such as the reciting of fanmail (quite moving but also quite cringe worthy) and the reptitive nature of the album. However, at times, it does show great moments of beauty. My favourite track being "Song Of Shadows"

It's not perfect, but it's far from bad. All in all, an enjoyable album. Worth a listen.
