4.0 out of 5 stars Looks fab but does not last, 4 Nov. 2013
I was really please with this. The colours are vibrant & it looked very funky. Unfortunately the pattern has wiped off the edges already and it is already looking a little tatty.

5.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't get any better!, 3 Dec. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: From the Shadows (Audio CD)
I love Dnb and have for 13 years. I benchmark on ed rush and bad company who made the best dark, 2 step, tech, sci fi, creepy sounding Dnb when I first started. This simply awesome, I have all their albums and this is the best. Not 3 good tunes a classic and 8 fillers its non stop mayhem filled with 8s and 9s. Recent albums I have liked are audio genesis device (collision is perfect), phace and misanthrop from deep space and teebee and calyx new album but non of them come close to this, honestly it's that good. Hard, heavy and fast - don't buy if you like dj fresh's new stuff or pendulum, that is just average pop music, this is Dnb at its finest.
Ps if anyone knows of any Dnb similar to this and anywhere near as good please add to a review so I can get hold of.

2.0 out of 5 stars poor album from amazing producers, 23 Feb. 2011
Dont know what they were thinking with this album, ed rush and optical are up there with my fav producers of all time, i have listened to dnb for years and believe me this is some of their worst work.
What happened to the dark sci fi heavy bouncy 2 step?
i give honest reviews and dont talk up albums just because of the name, i suspect if you asked them er & o would agree that this album it not their best
i dont really like even 1 tune, most are ok at best.
buy travel the galaxy or wormhole, then buy their singles like gas mask/bacteria, sick note, medicine etc. Dont buy this its dnb going through a bad patch!

2.0 out of 5 stars ok at best, no structure and sounds cheaply made, 14 Feb. 2011
This review is from: You Need Therapy (MP3 Download)
bought this because i was told it was like BSE, Nosia, Phace, Ed Rush etc, its not, which hugely disapointed me.
Technical Itch deserves respect, but this is only suitable if you like random drum beats and really fast drums scattered all over the place, its all about the drums there is very little deep basslines and dark inventive sounds.
personally id say dont waste your money like i did unless you know for sure this is your style, if you want commercial dnb this isnt it, if you want dark, scifi, creepy 2 step dnb, this definately isnt it.
buy black sun empire instead

5.0 out of 5 stars calling all dnb fans - buy this album, 14 Feb. 2011
This review is from: Lights & Wires (Audio CD)
forget about pendulum, andy c nightlife, chase and status, high contrast - im not knocking them (except pendulum), but its time to move on, no more cheesy female vocals.
This album is incredible! one of the best ive ever heard, if you thought endangered species was good (and youd be right) this is every bit as good.
Drum and bass fans, you know the music is splitting into different genres - this is the dark, bassy, sci-fi, creepy sounding 2 step, which for me is miles ahead of the other stuff.
Put it this way, if you always liked ed rush/optical and the virus style and bad company style tunes then this will be your style. it isnt a album full of average tunes with a couple of standout tunes on, its all amazing.
I think endangered species had the slightly better tunes, especially 'are u there' but overall this is better, the production is crisp and punchy.
dont bother buying if you are not tuned into dnb and just like the commercial stuff, also dont do this the injustice of playing on a weak stereo, but honestly buy it now!
If you like Nosia, then you will 100% love this.

One last point, as with other BSE albums it has a 2nd mix cd with loads of extra tunes, listen to the cd1 first otherwise youll never get round to listening to it as cd 2 is too good. Unlike previous albums CD one has one dnb tune then 1 dubsteb type tune, personally i dont like dubstep so i just skip the songs but there is more than enough to keep you going.
Also, if you havent got their other albums, buy them all at once, fund these guys to keep making this awesome sound.

1.0 out of 5 stars education for people who like pendulum, 13 Feb. 2011
This review is from: In Silico (Audio CD)
i gave this one star, only because there was no option to give zero stars.
the first pendulum album was ok at best. The Vault is an amazing tune, but that's it.
Im sick of people raving about these guys, if you are new to dnb and want to educate yourself then forget this nonsense. its not drum and bass, it commercial rubbish that is giving dnb a bad name like chase and status and high contrast (although both of these are not bad producers, just cashing in on the mainstreams sudden interest in drum and bass).
Cheesy female vocals are ruining the music.
But rather than me just complain, let me suggest you educate yourselves and start by buying ed rush/optical and all the virus tunes, then buy everything by black sun empire, stakka and skynet, looks at phac, bad company's older work and other similar acts.
if you want cheesy style dnb infested with vocals then look at netsky, his stuff is not for me but at least its well produced and decent for what it is.
oh and..........Andy C used to be amazing, trust me some of his sets were incredible, but this was nearly 10 years ago and now he is pulling dnb in the wrong direction. you need to support the dark sci fi sound and forget about pendulum rubbish, BSE, Nosia, Phace, Future Prophecies, etc...........these are the guys moving in the right direction..........come over to the darkside!!
